Standards without compromise

In the making of something exceptional, even the smallest details demand attention. The screws that bind our creations are no exception. While we continue to trial samples with our original supplier, for now—and most likely for the release of Hope—we will be using an alternative supplier for the units. These have been carefully sourced from a respected partner in England.

Crafted from marine-grade stainless steel alloy (S31600), the screws are Torx and, regardless of supplier, all heads will be custom-manufactured with a T10 drive. This ensures both consistency and refinement in every unit, even though the engraved FSR branding is not yet present.

Photographs of the initial samples from our original supplier have been received and reviewed. Though thoughtfully produced, they fell short of our exacting standards. The supplier has been asked to confirm whether the quality can be elevated. Should these engraved heads ultimately meet our expectations, we will commission them in full and offer them as a standalone product for those who wish to experience the complete expression of our craftsmanship.

In the meantime, our alternative supplier guarantees that the review units—and the forthcoming Hope release—deliver the reliability and meticulous attention to detail you can expect from us.

Finding the right fit

Packaging, though often overlooked, is an essential part of the experience we wish to create.

For Flexus, this has proven a particular challenge. The minimum order quantity requirements of suppliers mean we have yet to order samples and remain in the careful stage of sourcing suitable partners. Given the high minimums for the packaging we desire, we are exploring solutions that could serve multiple products rather than being bespoke to Flexus. With our creations made in very small quantities, non-standard packaging is an enduring challenge—we are mindful to avoid surplus boxes that may never find purpose.

For Hope, packaging is most likely to be sparse, providing the essentials without excess. This approach reflects the expectations of our community, where feedback has shown a clear preference for a carry case rather than bespoke packaging. Carry cases are valued for their versatility, excelling both in storage and in transport—a feature uniquely important within this hobby. For many, the ability to bring their board to meetups and gatherings is as important as the product itself.

Across all our projects, our guiding principle remains the same: every detail, from the product to its presentation, must reflect the quality, care, and craftsmanship you can expect from us.

From factory to content creator

The manufacturing of the Hope review units is nearing completion, and we expect to see them very soon.

Upon completion, each unit will undergo careful inspection by Kevin, founder of Typeplus, who will attend the factory in person to ensure every detail aligns with our standards. From there, the boards will be received by FSR for further evaluation, where compatibility with our components is verified, and each kit is prepared in full for the content creators. The units are then entrusted to our partners at Novelkeys, who will oversee final handling before the boards are dispatched to the creators for thoughtful review and critique.

The path of precision

The journey continues, with care in every millimetre.
